What Are sharping levers?
Sharping levers are mechanisms installed near the top of each string that, when engaged, raise the pitch of the string by a half step. By lifting or lowering the lever, the harper can quickly adjust the pitch of a specific note, providing flexibility and control over the instrument’s sound.
Levers allow harpists to:
- Play accidentals and change keys without retuning the entire harp
- Easily transition between keys like F and F# or B-flat and B-natural

Without sharping levers, a harp is limited to playing in a single key at a time, and any key changes would require a time-consuming retuning of the strings
